On today’s show local director, cameraman, and film enthusiast, Chris Knoblock joins Lady P and Gabe Haggard to discuss the number 12 movie on the Sight and Sound Critics Poll: Jean Vigo’s L’ATALANTE. L’ATALANTE was released in 1934, and is often considered to be among the most influential films in French cinema history. Listen to find out if that assessment holds water with the panel. Also, for added fun, try to keep track of all the different ways they pronounce the film’s title.

Next up, the panel takes a break from classic film to discuss a recent release. This time it’s the 2014 movie LOCKE, wherein a character named Ivan Locke drives around and makes some phone calls. Does Tom Hardy’s chiseled mug and furrowed brow keep their attention for the hour and half runtime? They discuss!

Then we end the show with a final note of positivity.
